Frederic Edwin Church - Heart of the Andes
It’s so easy to get mesmerized in all little details of this painting and it’s just as awesome to take in the whole piece at once. It’s like a good book or a good movie, I notice something new and intriguing every time. I was finally stirred to finish this sheet I started a while back and im pretty stoked to have it finished. They were inspired by an exhibit of turn of the century Persian fashion where I saw some amazing hand crafted dresses. I found myself mesmerized; I think it was the flowers that got me. The sky calls to us.
Ink on watercolor paper. First skateboard I’ve done and while I had a lot of fun making this, doodling with sharpies took a lot more time than I thought it would. I had to take the pictures at an angle to avoid even more glare from the epoxy finish.
